The first year I grew malagaw (papaya) on my little farm I had great success. I grew a couple different varieties and got lots of beautiful fruit. But the next year most of the plants died during rainy season. Apparently, too much water rots their roots. But the villagers said I could improve my results by making a little skirt out of an old dress and tying it around the base of the trunk of the plant. I tried that...didn't seem to help. So now I'm adding something to that idea. I figure that little skirt is designed to help the roots so a bra might help the fruit.
